سبحان الله والحمد لله ولا إله إلا الله والله أكبر ولا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله العلي العظيم , വായനയുടെ ലോകത്തേക്ക് സ്വാഗതം, അറിവിന്റെ ജാലകം നിങ്ങളെ കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നു..., "try to become a person who can appreciate the help of others, a person who knows the sufferings of others to get things done, and a person who would not put money as his only goal in life"

My valentine?…Certainly not Satan!

My valentine?…Certainly not Satan!

Day in and day out the ummah of the last but the most respected Prophet PBUH is falling into the trenches of this treacherous world. They are following the paths of all the religions other than Islam. Little they realize that all these paths other than Islam stand null and void and will be rejected by the Creator. Allah SWT says, ”And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers” [Aal ‘Imraan 3:85]

Nowadays Muslims copy the west in all forms. They believe there is logic and sense about what west follows. If this is the case then we are completely wrong at the very outset. Western societies are dominated either by the Jews or Christians. Allah says, And the Jews will not be pleased with you, nor the Christians until you follow their religion. Say: Surely Allah’s guidance that is the (true) guidance. And if you follow their desires after the knowledge that has come to you, you shall have no guardian from Allah, nor any helper” [Al -Baqarah - 2:120].
This verse completely opposes following others and warns us that their methods will lead us to astray.
There is no substantive history about the emergence of Valentine’s Day. The Christian Church had two Saints named Valentine. There are two different ideas centering them. The Roman Emperor, Claudius II, forbade young men to marry in 200 A.D. He believed single men made better soldiers. A priest named Valentine disobeyed the Emperor and married couples in secret. This is one idea and the other is that Saint Valentine was a lover of children but, was imprisoned when he would not honor other Gods. The children missed him and wrote messages of affection to him. They threw their notes through the bars of his cell. This may have been the beginning of exchanging messages. He was executed on February 14, 269 A.D. Pope Gelasius in 496 A.D. named February 14th, Valentine’s Day, after him.
The modern day celebration of Valentines Day seems to have begun in France and England. On the eve of this day young lads and lasses meet and exchange gifts. Red is the colour chosen for this day hence all the cake shops, coffee shops and gift centers are filled with red colour.
All this has no relevance to the teachings of our great and beloved Prophet PBUH. Prophet PBUH had warned us about the group of his ummah that would follow the enemies of Allah in some of their rituals and customs. Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him), who narrated that the Prophet PBUH said: You will certainly follow the ways of those who came before you, span by span, cubit by cubit, until even if they were to enter a lizard’s hole, you would follow them. We said,  ”O Messenger of Allah, (do you mean) the Jews and Christians? He said, “Who else?!”
Abdullah ibn Abdur Rahmaan ibn Jibreen was asked a fatwa concerning celebration of Valentines Day. The Shaykh replied Firstly; it is not permissible to celebrate such innovated festivals, because this is a newly-invented innovation which has no basis in Islam. Prophet PBUH said: “Whoever innovates something in this matter of ours (i.e., Islam) which is not part of it, will have it rejected” – i.e., it will be thrown back upon the one who innovated it.
Secondly, this involves imitating and resembling the kuffaar. Prophet PBUH said, “Whoever imitates the culture (of non-believers) is one among them.”

Thirdly, the things that result from this, such as partying, idle play, singing, music, insolence, impertinence, unveiling, wanton display, mixing of men and women, and the appearance of women before non-mahrams, etc., are all things which are haraam, or are means which lead to immorality. So it should not be justified as an excuse for relaxation and entertainment. The one who cares about himself should keep away from sin and all that leads to it.

Allah SWT says ”O you who believe! Enter perfectly in Islam (by obeying all the rules and regulations of the Islamic religion) and follow not the footsteps of Shaitan (Satan). Verily! He is to you a plain enemy [Baqarah 2:208].
Before concluding let us all seek refuge of Allah SWT from all the misguidance of Shaitan. May Allah SWT keep us steadfast in refraining from all that He dislikes? May the Muslim youth incept the virtues of Hassan and Hussain (may Allah be pleased with them) as both of them are the grand children of Prophet PBUH and the leaders of youth in paradise. May He grant us Paradise in the hereafter? Ameen
Verily the knowledge of the Hour is with Allah (alone). It is He Who sends down rain, and He Who knows what is in the wombs. Nor does any one know what it is that he will earn on the morrow: Nor does any one know in what land he is to die. Verily with Allah is full knowledge and He is acquainted (with all things).
